French Apple Pie
The 2 Week Diet


*I peel and cut one apple at a time and toss in a little lemon juice after each apple to keep them from getting too brown.


Preheat oven to 350º.

Place the pie crust in a pie plate. Crimp edges, trim, etc. Set aside.

In a large bowl, combine the sugar, cornstarch, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt, and lemon zest. Add the apples and toss to coat them with the sugar mixture. Place the apples in pie crust in a even layer.

Combine the flour and brown sugar in the bowl of a food processor. Add the butter and pulse until the mixture is crumbly.

Sprinkle the crumb topping over the apples. Place the pie on a baking sheet and bake for 90 minutes.
